Special Interests

Working through past relationship issues can help you achieve better relationships in the present and in the future. All relationships including one’s relatives, co-workers, neighbors, and friends are important and affect people’s lives. Processing through past relationships and moving forward is vital to experience a healthy life.

Personal Growth

Whether you desire inner peace, true joy, or a better home environment, therapy can be a great place to process where you have been, where you are, and where you want to be in order to live a full and healthy life. Therapy provides a non-judgmental environment to help you learn what keeps you from becoming a healthier person.

Eating Concerns

Have you had successful weight loss only to regain all the weight and more? Or, have you been trying to lose the same 30 pounds for the last 10 years? People try all sorts of diets and fads but in order to lose weight and keep it off it is necessary to deal with the underlying dynamics that keep the pounds on. Some people cover up abuse and trauma with eating while others use weight to keep them from having to emotionally connect with others. Eating issues are important to deal with not just so you look better in your swimsuit but because not feeling good about your physical body directly affects your emotional well-being, your relationships, and your life. I provide help for people who are eating based on their emotions rather than on hunger ques. We can work together to explore how your emotions lead you to eat more than you would like and how your weight impacts the way you see yourself and others. In therapy, I help you identify what holds you back from being a healthy weight using mindfulness techniques and learning how your upbringing and past relationships affect you.
